Via @Miisaakan in Their End is Our Beginning: Cops, Capitalism and Abolition
Guerrilla-Style struggle is not the answer: “Democratic control over society is premised on a densely organized society. It is for this reason that discussions of overthrow or revolution are far from some kind of guerrilla-style armed struggle, carried out by a small group acting on behalf of the masses of people.” “Such a military approach to social change has no hope of success against the advanced repressive state, especially in the United States.“
Social Revolution = Mobilizing the Masses: “… a social revolutionary process always involves masses of people, and the source of the movement’s power is its ability to shut down society through workplace strikes, street mobilizations, and protecting ourselves and our communities.” “Revolution undoubtedly will require self-defense, probably with arms, but its mass character and self-organization should be its defining traits.”
Cops block Social Revolutionary Movements: “The aim of abolitionist movements is to meet the needs and establish real safety for all. It will take a revolution to achieve these things in any lasting form.” “Blocking that path are the cops, and behind them the capitalist state.“
